The booth, designed for Salone 2025 plays into the perceptual properties of textures, light and shadow to distill an aura of introspective poeticism – a sensibility typically imbued, and felt, in traditional temples across Asia. A deep appreciation for Vietnamese vernacular and architectural crafts is abstracted, then layered into the booth’s materiality. Bamboo curtains, padouk walls and flooring – in red-tinted shades of black – form a monochromatic canvas for District Eight’s new creations, where visual noise is meticulously subtracted, and silhouettes thoughtfully spotlit among artful objects. Bathed in the soft, atmospheric glow of studioutte’s minimalistic light collection for the brand, the designs are curated into distinct settings for contemporary living and leisure. Their sculptural physicality anchors the space’s gently paced rhythm, guiding visitors through a journey of aesthetic repose, where a sense of communion with craft, design and culture is sensorily awakened.
